Photography - tips, tricks, and tutorials- UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Not only do I work as a photographer in real life, but I also model, and in doing so I have worked with many other photographers. I just started doing so within the last two years since I took my dolly hiatus and in saying such, you can see a huge difference between my older photography (in my Past Pullip Family photos) and my newer work.
Some of the more basic tips would include:
*Know your camera beforeyou get started. Know all of it's functions. Read the manual. Experiment with the settings to find what is right for you.
*Buy a camera that feels comfortable to you. Most of my counterparts use Digital SLR cameras with big flashy lenses, but when I am out on a job, I use a basic "point and shoot", a small Kodak EasyShare. I am much more in demand than most of my counterparts. It is not the camera that makes the photographer. It is the creativity and ability to learn that makes the photographer.
*For indoor shooting, Light is your best friend. Flash is usually bad, especially with the shiny faced or very pale dolls. Flash will eat their face up.
*If you are using indoor lighting, invest in "white" lightbulbs, not those that give off a yellow glow. Compact flourescent light bulbs (the spiral ones) will give off a cleaner light thatn your standard incandescent light bulb. they will also save you in the long run on your electric bill despite being a slight bit more expensive at purchase.
* For dollies a great possibility is building a light box. What is a light box? It is a box that has had it's sides/top removed and covered in tissue paper or light sheer fabric. The lights you use will shine thru the fabric or tissue paper and therefore diffuse or spread the light. It will be a softer, lighter, less harsh light that shines in on your dolly :) (Tutorial for making a light box at home to come.)
